He gets paid to find talent jobs, whether on-camera, in films, TV, commercials, voice-over work, etc. He gets paid when the talent gets paid. The Manager runs all aspects of the talent's career, including hiring and firing agents, lawyers, publicists, etc. Any business decision eventually goes through the manager. If you've seen the HBO series Entourage, Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven) was the agent.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>The <strong>Publicist<\/strong> handles all public relations requests that make the celebrity look good: media interviews, charity work, etc. In some cases, as with bigger celebrities, the publicist handles all decisions regarding PR without having to go back to the manager for approval. So, depending on your need, you may want to go to the manager rather than the publicist.
